You could be right Paul. I know my system takes an hour to 90 minutes to sound at its best. I have always put this down to having a valve pre-amp but it could be the speakers too. Peter at Cymbiosis also told me that cartridges take a while to warm up as well, though think he meant only 30 minutes or so.

Yes let us know how you get on with your Kinki endeavours HousElf, and would be great to hear the W5s at Kegworth.

I tend to have my amp on all day, so when music is needed we are ready to rock

I'm sure that as it's a Jazz Festival it will be a very sober affair

Good point Paul I suspect it's probably a bit of both I know the JW definitely improves within the first hour or so from home listening but I noticed that the W8s had a settling in period at Fred's Bake Off too

Just spotted a lovely pair of Cherry Wood W8's for sale on eBay: bargain saving of £1500 on RRP. Nicely run in apparently, and absolutely mint (according to a source close to the initial owner).

Well they didn't last long then Nigel.

Never in my history of hifi has a component lasted such a short time; and never has one cost me as much per day of ownership. I won't be giving a warts and all account here but we can have a natter over a cuppa, Dave.

What are you using instead Nigel? I assume they were going to live in Kendal. Think your ATCs reside in the Midlands, apologies if I have that wrong.

To be continued.

ProAc Studio 125's from second Kendal system on temporary call-up: no speakers in bedroom right now.

The story is long and incomplete. When complete, I will share a synopsis.

My Nephew had a couple of sessions playing at the Derry Jazz Festival this year.
