Quadrophenia by The Who.

Today I watched the music documentary about the album Quadrophenia by The Who.

The_Who-Quadrophenia-Frontal.jpg

This TV programme, I recorded from the "Yesterday" television channel . You mave have already seen it as it was previously on BBC4.

I'm so glad I recorded it and was able to watch it, as it put so many things into the perspective of the characters, the musicians (The Who), Keith Moon was actually normal for 10 seconds at 07:17, although he looks like he was being interviewed on the bog. Bystanders and people who lived in the time and the area also give input.

Quadrophenia is probably my favourite Who album, even the other albums have proven to be more popular and successful, such as Tommy and Who’s Next.

The documentary even goes as far as the quadrophonic studio, showing mixing and tape decks which will probably make many on here drool :22:. However the album was definitely made for stereo.

There is even a clip from Top of the Pops October 1973 with a track from the album "Why should I care". I didn't actually know it made it onto TOTP :$.

If you have the album, and liked it, it was definitely worth seeing. Sadly it appears it is no longer scheduled on Yesterday TV channel, but here it is if you want to see it again.

Thanks for the link to the tv documentary, which I had never seen before.

A truly great album!  I have the demos too in flac and they make an interesting background to the album.

A very good choice, Jeff.

I was aware Keith Moon was infamous for his drug taking, as well as a great drummer, but they way he was carried off stage after his Elephant tranquilliser, was quite disturbing. The obvious drug addled brain of Townsend, probably the rest of the band and support, it's amazing they were able to produce anything, let alone such a classic album as this and Tommy.

To be honest I prefer Who's Next but Quadrophenia is a close second, not a Tommy fan although I've got still on vinyl. Any decent versions on FLAC yet?

I'm tempted to say "how the flac should I know", but I wont :zip:. So is  this what you mean :).

I listened to it. A few tracks i liked where they were more of a ballad type.
