Systemdek with Logic / Manicore Datum 2 arm ( Audio Origami re-wired ) and Shure V15 Type IV cartridge.

Very nice :^. I'd be interested to know how the V15 IV compares to a modern priced equivalent. The last one I owned was bought from new some 40 years ago.

Jeff, it's the only cartridge i have at the moment, so i can't comment, but i'm sure i will go through some more later on. :) This is my first return to vinyl since the 80's.

I'm sure others could comment though, so we can learn.

It sounded pretty good when we played it at mine (Des bought the deck from me).

In the Logic on the Systemdek it sounded fast and lively, in contrast to the same stylus in another V15iv body in an SME IIIs on an RD80 where it was much smoother but a tad dull. I suspect that a new cartridge to better it will cost Des more than the entire deck/arm/cartridge/cable package. As Rob said, .......

Yes, it did do things a bit differently between the 2 decks (i liked both for different reasons). I think Dave summed that up pretty well, i went for the fast / lively option and it tracked nicely at 1.2g on that Datum 2 arm. :)
