Advice, do I go valve, or stay SS class A??

Would you consider a valve pre and solid state power? I use a Coincident Reference Line Stage (valve 101D) with a Krell 402 (I like it a lot). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    TT clamp and mats

I agree, try the ‘no cost’ option first. If it doesn’t work, buy a mat (my twopenneth would be try an acrylic one). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Audiolab 8000PPA only one channel working - please help

Cheers for this. I’ve sent Audiolab kit to Kevin Green (Audio Cellar) but not sure he is still doing this type of work. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. A while ago I bought the 8000PPA phono stage and have just got round to trying it. Now, I’ve connected two turntables to the unit and connected the PPA to an Audiolab 8000s and I only get sound out of one channel (except when I use the mono button and I hear this through both speakers). I’ve tried both turntables and it’s the same. I’ve tried changing cables between PPA and S, tried different outputs on PPA, different inputs on 8000s. Am I missing something obvious, or is the PPA knackered, if so, does anyone know where/how I can get if fixed? Cheers Iain Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Homemade ultrasonic vinyl cleaner

Might be worth a go then, but I’d try it on a record you aren’t particularly attached to, just case..... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Nope. I use distilled water (4.8 litres), isopropyl alcohol (200ml), Ilford Ilfotol (10ml) and Triton (5ml). Works really well. Filter it after I’ve finished cleaning for the day and store it in 5 litre container when not in use. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Equipment isolation on the cheap??

So how will you get the boards as it appears the listing on eBay is collection only and the seller seems to be in Northamptonshire (that isn’t particularly close to Kent)? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Whereabouts are you based? I would like a few of the boards but can’t make Kegworth this year. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Equipment isolation on the cheap??

This was the subject of an earlier article in The Audio Beat (link in attached article) but the cost of trying this is low. The only problem as I see it are aesthetics where the 'sides' of the blocks aren't 'square' they are on the tilt, presumably to facilitate lifting them. Anyway, this is the revised article:- http://www.theaudiobeat.com/blog/ikea_aptitlig_platform.htm If anyone knows someone in Leicestershire that can square the sides (presumably need a routing table or similar) please let me know. Cheers and happy reading. Iain

As long as the liquid doesn’t touch the label and the motor rotates slowly enough then the label doesn’t get wet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Spider have you thought about offering an in-line filtering option to keep the solution clean (might also aid when draining the tank)? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
