  1. thanks, looking forward to hear your thoughts!
  2. 7 yrs on, i'm wondering how many of you are still flirting with beyma TPLs? thnx.
  3. Yes it is. Here's the new amazing review of the amp, this time in Stereophile: "I consider this type of thinking radical intelligence, and my experience with the First Watt SIT-3 suggests that it is among Nelson Pass's finest achievements. It's too bad that SemiSouth went south; it's too bad Pass will make only 250 SIT-3s; it's too bad that so few audiophiles will ever experience its unique, information-rich pleasures; and it's too sad that even fewer audiophiles will comprehend the 100 years of engineering wisdom distilled by Nelson Pass into this modestly priced masterpiece. Bravo, Maestro!" Read more at
  4. Better pics.... Some more pics. Factory 240V AC unit: Ready to safely ship in original package: It's a lovely one: Still cheaper than the competition: or (350.000 RUB is 4,600 EUR) 3,570 EUR here, delivered.
  5. A stereo power amp made by Nelson Pass with currently unobtanium SemiSouth Static Inductor transistors (SIT), earlier known as VFET: First Watt SIT-3. Limited run of 250 pieces, already sold out in bare 2 months of production. Unobtanium! 18w of pure class A, with unusually high damping factor so very good at controlling difficult speakers. Anything over 90db/w sensitivity is a speaker good to be paired. Lots of very positive impressions world wide: Lots of effort to "tune" 2HD and to emulate a triode sound (whatever this means) while having benefits of solid state (lower running costs). Class A but doesn't get unreasonably hot so plain 10cm above lid is enough (much cooler than F3 I used to own). The unit for sale is factory spec 240V AC power. Two months old, barely run in. Surplus to requirements. Fully boxed with all the papers as delivered from the US. You are basically buying a new unit that someone run in instead of you. Asking 3570 EUR delivered to London area, plus additional costs of local UK shipping. EUR RRP in the range of 5000. Payment by bank transfer or PPG, whatever you prefer.
  6. interesting, this would mean that the coils or magnets inside are different. i've always thought that it's a body that is different (a type of finish - urushi isi a japanese lacquer technique), not the inners but i was wrong obviously.
  7. what else we talk on a hifi forum? lampizator DSD stuff is a game changer on many levels, despite its agricultural elements
  8. or you can use the original felt mat that comes with the stock platter
  9. the sound quality of lampizator amber II (plus DSD play) for about 2k is not possible from any old DAC of that price.

    Vitavox S3

I cant find a link to my ad for Vitavox S3, anyone remember how much I asked for them?
  11. Actually I had a few more TVCs, memories just keep on coming :))) - Promitheus, Solaja Audio, Lazar Audio, D-Audio and some more
  12. I had Music First (the standard early version TVC), Django with S&B, Django with Silk, Bent Tap with S&B Also, Bent Tap X with Slagle AVC, 1 in 1 out Slagle DIY and now I have 3 input Slagle DIY. I've also heard a few more Slagle implementations. From the lot, by far and clearly the best were 1 in 1 out as well as 2 in via toggle switch 1 out Slagle AVC based preamps. I didn't like TAP-X AVC. S&Bs are nothing to write home about compared to a well implemented Slagle AVC.
  13. Just contact Dave Slagle or visit his forum. He's very supportive.
  14. Furthermore, from the manufacturer's site, Django with Silk TVCs
