  1. Of course it is! While there will always be those with the money to splash out on the latest new digital gizmo or antique amp etc, eventually it is going to become so niche that hardly anyone will bother. This will be a crying shame but while cheap, decent and above all convenient options like Sonos and Spotify exist, real hifi has a tough battle to fight. This is just the way of things I suppose and is likely happening in many other hobbies too. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  2. It is nice looking, compact too. However I bought it as it has had great reviews from actual owners plus it has a good range of inputs and a DAC built in. It remains to be seen if I prefer the the TDA1541A in my Arcam CD player to the inbuilt DAC in this amp though. I will keep trying to see. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  3. I actually prefer the champagne look. I paid considerably less too, £290. It is mint and now ensconced in the system. First impressions are very good indeed. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks, I hadn't seen that one. I am confident this amp will be with me for a long time Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

  6. Hi all. I am maybe going to buy one of these amps second hand. I have read mostly positive reviews online, but was hoping someone here owns or has owned one could add their thoughts. Thanks in advance Steve Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  7. Surely someone would want them at the price? GLWS Steve Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

    DIY Turntable?

Hi was wondering if anyone has built a simple, good quality turntable perhaps using another to donate parts etc? I have no problem building a plinth (out of solid oak preferably). Anyway, any advice, opinions or helpful links appreciated! Steve Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
  10. My sister had the petrol 1.4 turbo (?) Mito for 12 months and said it was sluggish on anything but the 'sport' setting. Plus it is tiny inside.

I have been on here for years, and it has been a gradual process, but i feel I have had enough, I can Garantee there are many many more here who feel the same way. If I want to get all spiritual I will joina religion, I shouldn't have to put up with it on a bloody hifi / music forum. Zanash gets stick because not only is he a foo fella, but also because he is a zealot and a nutter...

Oh, so they are poor deluded fools. Not exactly moral high ground is it? My mistake, I forgot you wrote the moral rule book, perhaps we should all be forced to by futuretech plugs and kondo cables? For your information my findings are largely in line with yours, I consider myself a sceptic. What I don't stoop to is calling those whos experience differs from mine fools. If you don't think name calling is morally questionable that is fine by me. sorry about that, but I am really responding to all the self proclaimed "golden eared" guru's who have made this place a mystic's heaven of late. Dare to question them and all of sudden you are deaf / foolish / closed minded /have a shite hifi etc, and it really is annoying, just because your opinion (and experience) differs from theirs. I don't like the way the forum seems to be going, so I am going to refrain from posting mainly because if I don't I will end up saying something I may regret. I never really meant to offend anyone, but I personally feel offronted and will retaliate if needed.
