    2nd system for uni

Hi guys, just got back from my hols, despite a 14 hour delay at the airport, will take some pics of my system over the next few days for you all. I don't usea fraim I use a Atacama Equinox, which I find to be suffient. Anyone use the Russ Andrews powercords, do they make that much of a difference. Also have been looking at the Quad 99/909 set-up that looks pretty powerful and would give me some funds to start a home cinema system. Anyway back now Funky

Golf 2.0 Tdi Mk5. My baby. Again browsing the net, how much would Tag PA10 and either a Tag 100P or 2 Tag 125M's cost me. They look impressive, however I can find no prices/retailers on the internet. Regards Funky

I will only be in halls for a year then I will move into my own apartment, so an AV Reciever and 2 speakers will be fine and over the year I can save for more speakers, maybe start with a pair of kef iQ1's and work my way up to a 7 speaker Kef iq set-up ready to buy when I move in to my own place next year. Or at least that is the plan. Regards Funky

The main reason that I bring this up is that I could sell some of my Naim stuff, and maybe go for a Rega Cursa and 2 Rega Exon Monoblocks which would give my B&W 805S's some serious 'oommph' 125W per channel. However monoblocking has always confused me, do you simply have your pre-amp (e.g) Rega Cursa and then connect each output channel to it's own Rega Exon? I have heard Rega before and is similar to Naim, so maybe my CDX2/XPS2 + Rega P5 + Rega Cursa + 2 Rega Exon would make a good system with my B&W 805S's? Then if I had any change (not sure on Rega pricing), I could buy I dunno an Arcam AVR200 or entry level Reciever Denon/Pioneer etc and take this to uni, slowly building up a 5.1 or 7.1 system whilst I was at uni? What do you thing, possible plan? Regards Funky

Going back to my main system, recently I have thought of exiting the Naim upgrade system and have looked at Rega especially as I love my TT and I could hook my CDS3 when I get it too a top end Rega system or maybe Music Fidelity, what are their top end systems like? Regards

haha kiang I like your style, im £3k towards my CDS3, then there is a NAC252 to think about.... I was going to invest my student loan on the stock market, doing a finance degree, it may be good practise! Any other cheap speakers to look at, I have been looking a s/h B&W 600's? And the Missions I mentioned earlier, I really wanted a £70 amp, £70 speakers and £70 DVD Player, ideology... Regards

I seem to have caused a stir on the board, hehe. It all started with a NAD C521 and an Arcam A65 amp a few years ago, then i moved to Naim the xmas after my birthday with a CD5x and Nait 5, and I got hooked... What would you guys pay for a second hand Alpha 5, I have also been offered a Cambridge A1 for £30? I know i'm taking a knock on quality but i'm going to use a Denon 1710 as the cd player to cut costs so i'm not expecting the world. I'm only living there Monday-Friday so it will just be a make do system. Any other second handamps i should consider less than £75? Haha no my dad isnt Bill Gates, it's a mixture of xmas and birthday presents and money, oh and I used some inheiritence money upgrading my 150x to a 250, the rest went on my new golf tdi!!! hehe!
