  1. Just a suggestion, but I had a similar system to you and i started to hear a faint noise that could be described as crackling. After a bit of investigation, it turned out to be from a network cable that was running close to the back of the amps. I changed things around and rerouted the cable, and the noise issue went away. Could be worth a try before you splash out on a recap. Regards, Steve
  2. Hello, I have just bought a Majik 6100, but haven't installed it as yet. What would be the the best way to connect it up? I will be using it with a Majik DSM/3 and 109 speakers. I noticed on this thread you were talking about the interconnects and mention Silvers, Black and internal connections. I have a couple of pairs of Silver interconnects and several pairs of Black interconnects, but the internal option interests me as it will possibly be a neater solution, at least until I can move it into a dedicated listening area which should be finished early next year. Thanks for your help. Regards, Steve
  3. Hello, I went to the Hi-Fi Show at Ascot racecourse on Saturday and was slightly underwhelmed by it. Don't get me wrong, there were some fantastically engineered pieces of equipment (with some fantastically engineered price tags to match!), but after going into every room and listening to what was on offer, I got the feeling I was just hearing hi-fi and not music. The best sound and most musical, I felt, was coming from Exposure''s new active system. I suspect the main problem was the construction of the rooms, which were designed for drinking champagne and watching horses running around a track, and definitely not for listening to music. The main problem being that most rooms had two walls of glass in them, some had a partial glass ceilings as well. I think this gave the sound very piercing, almost painful top end that was at times difficult to listen to. Maybe the Exposure active system was able to compensate for this? On a more practical note , the rooms were spread all over what is a massive grandstand, so a lot of walking was involved. It was also disappointing that there weren't more refreshment places open, although I did get to watch the rugby in The Frankel Bar with a £3 micro-coffee! Did anyone else go to the show? What was your impression? Regards, Steve

  5. If you suspect the pre-amp, why don't you use the Sneaky DS directly into the power amp? At least that would rule out the pre-amp.
  6. Linn have had a presence in Harrods for as long as I can remember. I used to work in Knightsbridge and would spend a couple of lunchtimes a week wandering around in Harrods. A couple of years back I bought a secondhand Classik and a pair of Katans that came with a receipt from Harrods, circa 1990.
  7. Thanks ACS, I need 4 pairs in total, so that's a great start. Regards Steve
  8. Thanks Tendaberry and ThomasOK, Do you know where I can get the Linn Knekt banana plugs in the UK (or abroad , I guess)?
  9. Hello, I wonder if anyone had any suggestions as to the best terminations for K200 speaker cable. I am using LK140 amps and Aktiv Katan speakers, so I could use BFA or Z-Plugs on the amplifier end and Z-Plugs or bananas at the speaker end. Any suggestions as to configuration of the plugs and make etc. would be most useful. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Steve
