Arvo Part

I bought ' Fratres' from the local charity.

Although I'd heard of Part I'd never heard his music. Fantastic.

Can anyone recommend anything else?

I have 'Tabula Rasa', 'Fur Alina' and 'Seven Magnificat Antiphons', all very nice works indeed. Part has been a revelation since I discovered his music about a year ago. Enjoy!

I haven't heard a piece of his that I don't like, and I have 5 CDs full. I'm not religious but I think 'Triodion' - the title track on this album http://www.amazon.co.uk/P%C3%A4rt-Triodion-Polyphony/dp/B0000ARNEZ - is absolutely fantastic.

Favourite short track is 'Es Sang Vor Langen Jahren' from his album Arbos.

Not religious either but 'Passio' is also an exquisite album.

Both albums feature the Hilliard Ensemble and both were released on the excellent ECM label.

Thanks Phil - listening to first part now.

Not sure the choir was right for the first two pieces, but the rendition of Spiegel Im Spiegel was very good indeed.

Looking forward to the final part which includes his Symphony No 3 which is an incredible work.

Picked up a copy of Arbos on vinyl from a charity shop (£10, though), and it had a signed programme from a 1995 concert somewhere in Germany. How cool is that? Sadly the clicks and pops meant I had to buy the CD too! Lol.

You can't go wrong with Part really

My personal Fav is Lamentate
