Rated at 100wpc, a review in HiFi World reported it actually delivers 112wpc into 8 ohms and 182wpc into 4ohms. Great for driving difficult loads.

It's actually two amplifiers in a single casing, a dual mono construction. It also has high input sensitivity so no problems there.

However, if you looking for a softly-softly warm-and-fluffy rose-tinted sound, this probably isn't for you. It's not clinical, but it's not forgiving either.

And Dietrich is a really good guy to deal with. :^

The scm 40 does not seem too demanding in terms of power needs. So that wouldn't be a problem. If they make a good fit with the 556 would have to be tried though...

Maybe i make things more interesting by asking £400 for the 556 with shipping included!!!

How would a Meridian power amp work with my ATC's I wonder?

This appeared a couple of days after I'd committed to another amp or I'd have liked to have tried it with my SCM 40's. I think it's worth a shot, especially at £400 posted....
