Systemdek iix turntable, immaculate - audiomods rewire, tecnoweight, herbie's mat

14 posts in this topic

With an eye on a new turntable, I have for sale my lovely, vastly improved Systemdek IIX.

The deck is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition and has been very well looked after. This is one of the best examples of a IIX I have seen, The natural wood is very easy on the eye and the lid is very clean apart from some very minor polishing swirls. The base plate is solid dampened steel, not the more common plywood.

Earlier this year my 'dek benefitted from a full rewire and set up by Audiomods. The rewire used the same looms Jeff Spall employs in his historic arms. A single run of quality wire from cartridge to quality phono plugs.

The RB250 arm also benefits from an upgrade to a Michell Tecnoweight, for which I have the original packaging.

The platter has also enjoyed its share of upgrades and sports a Herbie's Matt and a rather nice Michell clamp with strobes for 33 and 45 rpm. The Herbies is very clean and the clamp is in excellent condition.

Comes with separate arm boards for rega & linn arms.

I have been running the IIX with a Heed Orbit, which is available separately. The Orbit does tighten up things nicely, but the IIX runs rock steady at 33rpm with or without it.

The sound? very refined with bags of detail without being over-analytical. Entertaining and pacey but with a firm grip on what goes where across the sound stage.

But what of price?? This package of vinyl wonderment is your's for 399.00. Less the half the price of a basic LP12...

It's all set up and ready to go. Looks lovely and I'm sure will delight its new owner. Collection from Surrey or London is much, much preferred.

There now follows a selection of pics for your delight and delectation (please note the DL110 cart is not included)

A second, cheaper option would be to remove the tecnoweight, herbies and clamp. I can fit a RB300 steel stub and counterweight on the arm and inc the original felt mat. You'd still receive a sumptuous turntable and an audiomods rewire arm, but for less dosh. 299.00.

So there we have it - Option One, full loaded @ 399.00. Option Two (as above) @ 299.00.

Heed Orbit MK 1 available with the TT @ 125.00

Just to follow up on Spacehopper's all too accurate assessment, this is a risk-free upgrade for someone looking to get serious, or indeed a good entry point if you're getting back into the black stuff. Unless you suffer from the never-ending upgrade madness which afflicts so many of us, this is all the turntable you will ever need. The offer prices are well below what has been invested in this deck, and well, well below the going rate for LP12s of questionable provenence and performance...

The sensible Wammer, thinking "I have a fancy for vinyl, but where, oh where can I find a TT of superior performance, with full provenance, which costs not too much, yet looks and sounds so much more?" could not do better than buy this one!
