Vinyl vs CD vs digistuff

6 posts in this topic

It feels good to be able to put this one, once and for all, to bed.

Bought an LP today, Ember Records, 1965, mono, A Tribute to the Late Sidney Bechet.

It says on the back of the sleeve "Fine records need not be expensive". It is, and it wasn't - one whole British pound.

Most importantly, on the back of the sleeve, it also states, without equivocation or uncertainty of any sort, and not allowing for any argument or doubt, the following absolute truism:

"This monographic microgroove recording is playable on monophonic and stereo phonographs. IT CANNOT BECOME OBSOLETE {my caps - Sym}. It will continue to be a source of outstanding sound reproduction, providing the finest monophonic performance from any phonograph."

It says it on the sleeve, therefore it must be true :shock::shock:.

Repent, all ye digisuckers. Ember Records has spoken.

Sym
