Jury Duty

Yes . Did it in April. The first two cases were pretty run of the mill affairs. The last one involved cheque fraud with a major high steet bank. Mention the word fraud and you 'll never guess where the defendant came from;)

I had to do it a few years ago. Take a good book as you can be hanging around for ages. I got sworn in and then we broke for lunch so I popped into town to get a sandwich and bumped into the 'offender' who was walking in the opposite direction (He was on a GBH charge) I absolutely shat myself and quickly dived into a shop. The case wasn't heard in the end as some evidence or other was classed as inadmissable. It only took 'em 4 fuckin days to decide. It must cost huge amounts of money just because they take so blimmin long to get going.

There was another trial going on at the same time which involved a care worker sexually abusing an old aged pensioner. I'm glad to say I was fairly relieved that I didn't have to sit on that one.

Just for a laugh if you do get on the jury and have to make verdict make sure you disagree with everyone else to see if you can blag a night in a hotel:D

Well spotted That Man!

How about a splintery log? With the nails through the ball sack?
