It's Sale time - 15 per cent off all amps, CD's and Systems

6 posts in this topic

OK folks, seems that lots of people wanted to trade hi fi this Christmas and New Year so I need to create some space. As a result Iam slashing ( I love that word) 15 per cent off all amps, systems and CD players. The sale starts at midnight tonight and ends on Feb 7th at midnight. There will be some real bargains in there, I might be persuaded to do some extra special deals in the audiophile section if you care to email me.:)

All the best to all, have a great 2008.

Dave.

A few nice decks you have there. I especially like the Dual 505 in the rosewood plinth. I had the bog standard model for over 20 years and think they are a joy to use, being semi-automatic. I like that Sansui deck too and a Trio KD-1033 sold for £50.00 on ebay about a week ago.

If you ever have a Dual 701 in I'd be interested. The only trouble would be delivery, as turntables do not travel too well.

Is the 701 the electronically controlled model - the later one with the direct drive? If so I have a new old stock one of those in it's original box. I think from memory it is missing it's headshell, I will have a look in my stock room tomorrow and have a look. Turntables are a bit of a nightmare to ship but we don't have too many problems as we pack them very thoroughly, they are also covered by insurance in transit.

Regards,Dave.

Thanks Dave. The 704 uses the EDS 900 electronic motor which was nearly identical to the one used in early Goldmunds. In comparison to the EDS 1000/1000-II motors, used in the 701/721, there is less of a magnet in the EDS 900 and as a result, less torque. The platter on the 704 is also much lighter. At the time of its release, the 701 was claimed to be the quietest turntable in existence. I think I'll hold out for one of those, so if you ever get hold of one in good nick.... :D
